MAC Select Anniversary Treat & Program Review.
I received a totally lovely e-mail the other day from MAC which doesn’t happen too often. Because have been a MAC Select member for a year (the program launched last July i always wrote about here!) I became getting rewarded! 2017’s MAC Select anniversary gift is a full-sized Patentpolish ($24, available here) in any tone or shade of your choosing. To redeem for the gift, you have to purchase an merchandise in-store or online.

I’m writing about my practical knowledge as this month is the first-time that a lot of MAC Select users are receiving these emails as well as redeeming them. I hope this post helps to you – in case you are waiting for your current email or are looking to find out more about the program and gift.
MAC Opt for Anniversary Gift – The Process
You can come up up your gift in-store or on the internet; I opted to pick up our gift in-store as our mall’ohydrates MAC store was not too long ago renovated. I went to any MAC counter at The Gulf only to be told that this surprise is only redeemable at a free-standing store – an issue that would have been nice to clarify upfront. It appears that regardless of your status (I’m a Devoted member that means I have to spend $200 throughout the year), you will get the same gift.
My Experience: I must say that MAC really needs to work on their customer service video game – something that I expected to take Five minutes at checkout (barring every line up), ended up being a Thirty minute process laced with confusion all-around 1) whether they had any “code” to input in the procedure for the redemption and 2) absence of clarity around whether a sale was necessary to receive the reward.

To clarify, yes it is important to purchase an item but since no the very least was indicated, I’m absolutely sure you can buy an insert intended for $1 and still redeem for the gift item) to receive your gift. All you need to do is show ones email (which should have your own MAC Select ID) on the sales associate who will then look improve profile and do the see process.
MAC select users, check your email for this alert!
MAC’s customer service isn’t almost anything to write home about so if you exclude this very poor customer service experience, I’d have to say that this year’s MAC Pick anniversary gift is a beautiful pick. The Patentpolish is one of my favourite lip products and strategy from MAC. I’ve prepared a pretty in-depth review of the method earlier if you are curious!
Thoughts on the MAC Select Program – A year Later
I’ve been a member of any MAC Select program simply because launched. Since there is no actual physical card indicating your program (you have to provide your message in-store) it is often easy to forget there’s even a membership program in rest room. I don’t receive way too many promotional emails from Mac pc unlike at Sephora so you can be forgiven that you leave out the membership program in general.
The Beneficial: I really appreciate the variety of publicize sales and discounts of which took place several times throughout the year. The power of the discount is quite important too (25% off) – much higher than you would get at other snowchains like Sephora or The Bay. Basically recalled correctly, there were around 3 of these sales since the program started – they developed at random time too (my spouse and i.e. not during the holiday season or main shopping instances) so it’s almost like an excellent sale to tide you over between the major sales of the year.
The Undesirable: It would be really nice to have a bodily card or app to scan during the checkout method. It would help speed up the process lower confusion and not getting thoroughly credited with your purchase. I don’t really notice much difference nor significance throughout benefits between the different tiers in the program. Aside from the truth you get a 30 minute makeover without cost and first access to specific collections, the rest of the benefits will be similar across the 3 plan tiers. I hope that as the software expands and mature, we were able to see some addition to the extensive benefits.
Overall, I really like the MAC Opt for anniversary gift – very nice, and I like being able to go with my own colour rather than using a predetermined shade chosen personally. There is still a lot of problems and confusion around the operation so a bit more clarity during the communication would be appreciated. Or else, if you’re not yet some sort of MAC select member, the definition of you waiting for?
